  Ripple Tank

Useful for demonstration of wave patterns. Consists of a metal tray with a plate glass base and detachable legs. A pair of support rods with clamps is provided to carry the wave generation system. A set of 4 metal reflectors is supplied consisting of a pair of straight reflectors 150x25mm, a curved reflector of 215mm chord length x 25mm high and a short straight reflector 25x25mm. A set of 4 loose gauze strips is provided to reduce unwanted reflections. The ripples are produced by a small 1.5V to 4.5V D.C. electric motor mounted at the centre with a row of holes to mount the spherical dipper for the production of circular ripples. Complete with accessories.

  Hand Stroboscope
A 255mm diameter disc with twelve slots and a finger hole, rotated about a ball bearing mounted on a handle.

  Tuning Forks on Resonance Box

A set of four tuning forks, C(256), E(320), G(384), C(512), mounted on a polished wooden resonance box. Provided with a hammer.

  Pair Of Tuning Forks

A pair of tuning forks mounted on individual resonance boxes, with one fork fitted with sliding mass to demonstrate beats. Changing the position of the boxes and the slider mass allow different frequencies and beats to be heard. Complete with hammer

  Electric Tuning Fork

A heavy steel fork of about 60 vibrations per second is mounted on a heavy cast iron base. The electromagnet is adjustable so that the amplitude of vibration may be varied between wide limits. Complete with mirror for Lissajou’s figures experiments.
